Featured Artist for June 2008 is Pottery
Artist Karlyn Greenberg
Stop by the shop to see her New Work, featuring her Blue and White Pottery. The collection is perfect for displaying flowers and for serving food. This pottery will also make a great Wedding Gift !
Clay Art:
Polly McKinley, a former guild member, will once again be displaying her pottery at HPGS. We welcome her back to the shop!
We are busy working on a special 'teapot' feature at the shop. HPGS will soon be 'The place to find the best selection of unique, handcrafted teapots, either functional or sculptural'. Keep checking with us for more news on this upcoming feature.
Jewelry Art:
Look for Vanessa Parker during the month of June as the featured artist in the Rotunda Art Gallery at St Luke's UMC. Joining her are two fellow artists: Jan Locander a very talented glass bead artist who is also at Houston Potters Guild Shop and Gallery; and Elizabeth Chambers a wonderful ceramic/clay artist who makes one of kind art jewelry and pottery who is also at Oolala.
St. Luke's is a special place to Vanessa because this is the church where she met her husband while on a mission trip to Guatemala in 1998.
Fine Art:
Cathy Fuchs-Holman just got back from Florence, Italy. She has been studying print making at the Santa Reperata School of Art in Florence, with Margaret Craig. She will have new work soon.
